Canada drops tariffs on most U.S. products

Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Aug. 22 that Canada will remove retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods that are in compliance with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), starting Sept. 1, 2025. This represents the majority of U.S. imports, although tariffs on steel, aluminum and vehicles will remain in place.
