The U.S. has confirmed its first human case of the New World screwworm, a flesh-eating parasite whose northward creep from South America has put the country's cattle industry on high alert in recent months.
Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Aug. 22 that Canada will remove retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods that are in compliance with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), starting Sept. 1, 2025. This represents the majority of U.S. imports, although tariffs on steel, aluminum and vehicles will remain in place.

A northeastern Wisconsin farm is having a very good crop year.
Edge, DBA and FSF member, Lee Kinnard with Kinnard Farms near Casco tells Brownfield they’ve been getting rain at the right times this summer. “We’ve been very fortunate. they haven’t been too heavy. They’ve been just about perfect. We’re sitting here after just completing a really beautiful fourth crop of alfalfa.”
