ARIP: A critical opportunity for dairy – Round 1 now open
Source: WI Dept of Transportation
The Agricultural Road Improvement Program (ARIP) is a top priority for DBA and our members — and now is the time to act. With 90% of project costs covered by the state, ARIP is an unmatched opportunity for local governments to significantly upgrade farm-critical roads, including first/last mile routes that are often weight-limited or impassable during the spring.
We urge dairy producers to connect with their town and county officials throughout the application process — from identifying eligible road segments to helping compile required farm data. Your local involvement can directly influence whether these projects get funded.
The application period is now open, and funding is highly competitive. All commodities are eligible, including timber, but dairy needs a strong presence in the project pool to ensure our industry's needs are addressed.
Working with your town or county to submit an ARIP application? Let us know. DBA is tracking member involvement and stands ready to support where possible.
